Gynecomastia 

 

This is an enlargement of the breast in male patients.

 

It can be caused by a fatty deposit in overweight patients or by an enlargement of the breast tissue itself or very often both factors are present.

 

If the enlargement is due to fat deposit,liposuction alone is sufficient.

But if the gland is enlarged as well,breast reduction is indicated.

This is usually done through a nipple incision .

 

We advise our patients to wear a garment for 3 weeks to allow the skin to redrape and have a smooth contour.
