Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

This procedure is used to trim away sagging skin and tighten loose

abdominal muscles.

It is almost always associated with liposuction in the hip area in order to enhance your silhouette.

There are two types of abdominoplasty : the full tummy tuck or the mini

tummy tuck.

The full tummy tuck is indicated for women who have full sagging skin after pregancy or who have lost weight after diet or bypass surgery.

The incision is in the pubic hairline and goes from hipbone to hipbone.

There is also another incision around the belly button in order to

reshape it.

The mini tummy tuck is indicated when there is slight loose skin in the lower abdomen.

The incision is much shorter than in the full tummy tuck and there is no incision around the umbilicus.

Both types of tummy tuck are done under general anesthesia but the full version usually requires hospital stay whereas the mini version can be done ambulatory.
